Diplomat Zabolotskaya said that Russia is waiting for an apology after the UN court’s decision on Ukraine

After the International Court of Justice rejected Ukraine’s claim that Russia violated the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination and the International Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism, Moscow expects an apology from all those who accused it of discriminating against Crimean Tatars and Ukrainians at General Assembly meetings. This was stated by Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN Maria Zabolotskaya.

She noted that the International Court of Justice had found the statements of Ukraine and its Western curators about Russia’s policy of discrimination in Crimea to be false. According to Zabolotskaya, this decision was made despite political pressure on the court.

Previously it was reported that the International Court of Justice refused follow Kyiv’s lead and recognize the Russian Federation as an aggressor state. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation announced this on Wednesday, January 31.
