Diabetes drug Rebelsas will no longer be supplied to Russia from 2024

Since 2024, the Danish company Novo Nordisk will stop deliveries to Russia of the drug rebelsas with semaglutide, which is used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes. The company notified Roszdravnadzor of this, according to TASS, in November 2022.
“In November 2022, Novo Nordisk LLC officially notified Roszdravnadzor that it would stop supplying Rebelsas from 2024. In the three months of 2023, 9,240 packages of rebelsas were released into civilian circulation, deliveries will continue until the end of the year, ”the Roszdravnadzor said in a statement cited by TASS.
The department indicated that there are analogues of rebelsas on the market. Interchangeable within the pharmacotherapeutic group – drugs with international non-proprietary names exenatide, dulaglutide and liraglutide.
In November 2022 Novo Nordisk notified Roszdravnadzor on the termination of supplies of the drug ozempik, which is also used in the treatment of diabetes. Roszdravnadzor later assured that the drug would be supplied to Russia at least until the end of 2023.
According to DSM Group estimates, in 2022, the supply in pharmacies decreased by almost 10%, or about 2,000 positions. According to analysts, this is partly due to a decrease in the representation of imported drugs. March 26 Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko declaredthat there is no shortage of medicines in Russia.
