Der Spiegel: fighting near Kupyansk intensified at the wrong moment for the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Russian units stepped up the pressure on the Kupyansk direction at an unfavorable time for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was written by a columnist for the German magazine Der Spiegel.
The author of the article drew attention to the fact that the Russian army became more active in the northeastern sector of the front at the moment when the Ukrainians tried to break through the Russian defenses in the south. According to German experts, the attack on Kupyansk is carried out, among other things, to withdraw the forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the south.
Earlier, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anna Malyar recognized the Kupyansk direction as the most tense sector of the front. According to her, Russian troops expect to gain a foothold in the territories of the Kharkov region.
Russian military bloggers summed up the preliminary results of the fighting in the Kupyansk direction. Yuriy Podolyaka spoke about the record number of captured strongholds of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – on August 10, they managed to capture more than 30 of them.
