Russia will insist that United Nations Secretary General António Guterres launch arbitration against the United States due to regular problems with issuing visas to diplomats.
This was stated in an interview with RIA Novosti by Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN.
According to him, “a lot of violations have accumulated.”
Problems with visas and illegally confiscated diplomatic property of Russia, according to Polyansky, remain unresolved for the 6th year.
Restrictions on the movement of Russian diplomats, who, when leaving the 25-mile zone, must apply to the State Department, have an even longer history.
All the “reasonable and limited timeframes” designated by the UN General Assembly for eliminating these problems have long passed, Polyansky noted. “However, the Secretary General, unfortunately, has not yet started the arbitration procedure,” he said.
Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that many members of the Russian delegation have not been issued visas to participate in the session of the UN General Assembly.
