Deputy Prime Minister Abramchenko urged businessmen to invest in Siberia

Russian industrialists and entrepreneurs should invest their experience and capital in Siberia. This statement was made by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Victoria Abramchenko during an online speech at the Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum.

“This unique macro-region is rich in natural resources, has a favorable geographical position, scientific and human resources, which determines the high potential for its development,” — quotes her press service of the government of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

Abramchenko recalled that in January the federal government adopted the Strategy for the Social and Economic Development of Siberia until 2035, the purpose of which is to attract private investment in the economy. By mid-2023, the Siberian regions must submit a plan to achieve targets for each industrial cluster, she specified. We are talking about the formation of eight clusters in the areas of aluminum processing, extraction of precious metals, gas, oil, coal, etc.

The Vice Premier noted that the Ministry of Economic Development expects by 2030 to implement more than 200 investment projects, create more than 200,000 jobs and attract investments in the amount of 7 trillion rubles. Abramchenko drew attention to the fact that government support measures are also required for the implementation of projects.

Earlier, during his address to the Federal Assembly, Russian President Vladimir Putin urged business “to invest in Russia”. Speaking about the imposition of sanctions against Russian companies, the head of state noted that entrepreneurs should not “cling to the past” and “run with outstretched hands.”
