Retired colonel Roderich Kiesewetter in an interview with a German publication ntv.de said that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, fearing a reaction from Russia, did not dare to transfer battle tanks to Ukraine.
According to him, Scholz was alarmed by the widespread opinion in the Russian Federation, according to which the use of German tanks against the RF Armed Forces would be considered a provocation by the FRG.
He added that at the moment Scholz forced himself “to act alone.”
“Earlier, the head of the German government said that Berlin would not take any steps without coordination with NATO. This decision was wrong,” Kizevetter said.
The former colonel specified that for several months the FRG ignored the request to supply Poland with Leopard tanks to replace the Polish T-72s.
