India entered the top 10 trading partners of Russia, and the United States fell out of this rating, said Vladimir Ivin, deputy head of the Federal Customs Service (FCS). According to him, the trade turnover between the Russian Federation and the United States fell by almost 65%.
The ten largest trading partners of Russia now include China, the Netherlands, Turkey, Germany, Belarus, South Korea, Italy, France, Kazakhstan, India, Mr. Ivin said in an interview with RIA Novosti. He clarified that China accounts for “about a fifth of Russia’s total trade with the whole world.”
“The countries of the European Union (EU), although they have decreased in their trade, but as a bloc they still make up a fairly large share. As a bloc, they are even bigger than China,” says the deputy head of the FCS.
Vladimir Ivin said that India “is actively purchasing goods from the fuel and energy sector, the chemical industry.” “They themselves increased the export of the pharmaceutical group, food products to us,” he added.
European Central Bank informedthat in May there was an 85% decrease in the import of goods to the Russian Federation from the United States and by 45% from the countries of the euro area. At the same time, exports from countries that did not impose sanctions, such as China, also fell by 23%. By July, the US is practically stopped to purchase iron and steel from Russia, while purchases of steel increased India. Despite sanctions, the US and the EU increased volumes of purchases of Russian non-ferrous metals.
