According to a RIA Novosti report citing Czech TV, Vera Jourova, Deputy President of the European Commission for European Values and Transparency, said that the parliamentary elections in Slovakia were held under conditions of “unprecedented disinformation.” She noted that the European Commission respected the election results, but noted that the second-place Progresivne Slovensko (PS) party faced an intense disinformation campaign.
Jourova noted that she is seeing similar situations based on surveys available to her and data from platforms that have recently provided reports on disinformation campaigns. She also noted that the European Commission had noticed a high presence of materials from far-right and other sources in the Slovak information space.
Vera Yurova did not specify how such a disinformation campaign could influence the election results.
