In Yekaterinburg, the Oktyabrsky District Court arrested City Duma deputy Aleksey Kholodarev for distributing a “revealing” film created by an extremist organization. The term of arrest is 14 days, TASS reports.
The film was posted on social networks in 2017, and Kholodarev did not deny that the video was posted on his official page on the VKontakte social network, but pointed out that in recent years he has been constantly removing all extremist materials posted by visitors from there.
The court, however, was not convinced by his arguments, and it decided to “recognize Kholodarev guilty and subject him to administrative punishment in the form of judicial arrest for a period of 14 days.”
Kholodarev was elected as a deputy in 2018 from the Just Russia party. Then, because of his political views, he was expelled from the party and expelled from its faction in the City Duma.
