State Duma deputies from the New People party introduced a bill according to which the amount of alimony should be at least 50% of the average regional subsistence level for children. Currently, there is no minimum amount of alimony in the law.
“The bill provides for the introduction of the definition of the “subsistence minimum for a child” in the Family Code when determining the amount of alimony and introduces a minimum irreducible level of alimony,” the explanatory note to the bill says. hosted in the database of bills on the website of the State Duma.
The authors of the initiative, which involves amending the Family Code, were deputies Ksenia Goryacheva, Sardana Avksentieva, Vladimir Plyakin, Georgy Arapov and Oleg Leonov. They note that the proposed changes “will protect the child’s right to a guaranteed minimum monthly allowance.”
Also, the deputies from the “New people” emphasize that the adoption of the draft law developed by them will not require the allocation of additional funds from the federal budget.
