The Budget Committee of the Legislative Assembly of the Perm Territory on October 19 considered a draft law on bringing the region’s charter in line with the new federal law on public authorities in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. Among other things, he proposes to endow deputies with the status of civil servants, that is, to extend to them all the prohibitions characteristic of officials. This may complicate the conduct of business by parliamentarians working on an exempt basis, deputies fear. During the discussion, it turned out that this issue has not yet been resolved, although almost a year has passed since the adoption of the new law.
