Demand for investment diamonds in the first quarter of 2023 increased 6.5 times. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Finance of Russia Alexey Moiseev in an interview with the Rossiya 24 TV channel. Investment diamonds are not subject to VAT – the zero rate for their purchases in banks is valid from October 1, 2022
“We see that there is demand for diamonds. In the first quarter of 2023, compared to the first quarter of 2022, it grew 6.5 times,” said Mr. Moiseev, as quoted by press service Ministry of Finance.
The number of banks cooperating with the diamond mining company ALROSA will soon reach 30, he specified.
In August, ALROSA published its first financial report in a year and a half. In the first half of the year, the company maintained revenue at 2022 levels, but net profit and free cash flow decreased by 35%.
