Degtyarev cannot volunteer to Ukraine because of his position as governor

The governor of the Khabarovsk Territory, Mikhail Degtyarev, said that he would be ready to go as a volunteer to participate in a special operation in Ukraine. However, he cannot do this because of his position.
“We are them (volunteers.— “b”) we are proud, thank you. Well done boys. I would love to go myself. But you can’t – I have a reservation because of the governorship. I am the commander of the territorial defense headquarters, these are all governors by position. I can’t quit my post, ”said Mr. Degtyarev in an interview. “RIA News” at the Eastern Economic Forum (WEF) today, 8 September.
He said that two registered battalions of contract soldiers are being formed in the region. Families of SVO participants receive support from the region.
Today WEF-2022 completes its program. The forum was held from September 5, as usual, on Russky Island in Vladivostok on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University.
