The Government of the Russian Federation decided to organize “duty-free trade for diplomatic missions” in Russia – as notes RBC, we are talking about creating stores where only diplomats and members of their families can purchase goods. The publication indicates that such outlets will become analogues Soviet shops “Beryozka”.
As follows from the decree, such stores will sell alcohol, tobacco products, cosmetics and perfumes, jewelry, smartphones, watches, and confectionery.
According to the document referred to by the publication, it will be possible to pay for goods in such stores both in rubles and in foreign currency. And you can get into the store only with the certificate of a diplomatic worker or if you have accreditation in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
At the initial stage, there will be only two such stores: in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
