Defense and security assistance detachments to be formed in the Pskov region

Operational defense and security assistance detachments will appear in the Pskov region, they will operate in all municipalities, and their main task will be to help the security forces in case of emergencies. video message Governor of the region Mikhail Vedernikov.

“Now our task is to do everything so that the Pskov region is ready for any development of events. In this part, we use the experience of the Belgorod region to the maximum, we have been carefully studying it for a long time. In the near future, we will carry out all the necessary organizational work to form operational defense and security assistance detachments,” he said.

According to the governor, first of all, such detachments will begin to operate in the border areas. It is assumed that they will assist law enforcement agencies in case of possible emergencies. As Vedernikov clarified, we are talking about extinguishing fires, eliminating the consequences of emergencies, as well as helping to patrol “important facilities.”

“At a minimum, this will give us additional opportunities in terms of responding to difficult situations and providing first-hand information from the field,” the head of the region said.

On June 4, the authorities of the Belgorod region said that in Novaya Tavolzhanka there were battles with the Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group (DRG). Later, the Ministry of Defense reported that the DRG tried to penetrate the region across the river in the area of ​​​​the settlement, but an artillery strike was launched, as a result of which the enemy was “scattered and retreated.” At the end of May, the Ukrainian DRG also infiltrated the Belgorod region, after which the counter-terrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced there.
