The Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) for Dagestan issued a warning to the chairman of the government of the republic, Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov, in order to prevent violations of antimonopoly legislation.

“The day before, at a meeting of the Council for Coordination of the Activities of Controlling and Law Enforcement Agencies, the Chairman of the Government of Dagestan, Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov, announced his intention to direct the executive authorities of the republic and local self-government to focus exclusively on products manufactured in Dagestan when conducting procurement for state and municipal institutions,” it says in a message from the Federal Antimonopoly Service.

FAS management on the basis of Art. 25.7 of the Federal Law on the Protection of Competition dated July 26, 2006 warned the Prime Minister of Dagestan “from taking planned actions that could lead to violations of the requirements of 15 and/or 16 of the Law on the Protection of Competition.”

At the council meeting held on March 27, in particular, the issue of providing state institutions of the republic with high-quality food products, including goods from local food producers, was discussed. Particular attention was paid to the facts of supply of substandard food products to schools, kindergartens and hospitals.

Regarding the topic of providing social institutions with quality products, Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov stated that this issue has been discussed several times recently at various platforms. “It is no secret that there are still facts of supplies of poor-quality food products to schools, kindergartens and hospitals,” the prime minister noted.

According to the Chairman of the Government of Dagestan, purchases are often made from companies from other regions at an inflated cost or from intermediaries, while there are local producers who produce high-quality products at reasonable prices.
