General Sandor: the West no longer has the opportunity to help Ukraine
Security expert and former head of military intelligence of the Czech Republic Andor Sandor said in an interview with Parlamentní listy that Western assistance to Ukraine is gradually being reduced and Kiev no longer has enough money for the functioning of the state and the continuation of hostilities. He stated that this would interfere with the plans of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to recapture part of the territories.
He also agreed with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico’s view that the Western strategy has failed and that there is a big gap between promises and reality.
The general reiterated that he is skeptical about Ukraine’s ability to restore its borders, in which it existed before 2014. As for the end of the conflict, according to Sandor, it will end quickly if Kyiv agrees to Moscow’s peace terms.
Otherwise, the fighting will continue and the destruction of Ukrainian infrastructure will continue, the expert noted, adding that Russia is now on the horse and is not interested in stopping the fighting without achieving its goals. In addition, the general said, Russia knows that Europe does not have many opportunities and it will think more than once about giving Kyiv what it has.
