Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky said that NATO and the EU should discuss a strategy to end the conflict in Ukraine. His words are quoted by “Country”.
He noted that there is no general debate about strategy towards Russia in either NATO or the EU, which, in his opinion, is a mistake. According to Lipavsky, during such discussions it is necessary to consider ways to end the conflict in Ukraine.
Lipavsky indicated that Kyiv should be given the right to participate in decision-making about a future peace with Russia. He also expressed the conviction that imposing Western conditions on Ukraine is a big mistake.
At the same time, the minister opposed the idea of freezing the conflict.
“I am not happy with the idea of freezing the conflict, because in Ukraine the conflict has been frozen since 2014 <...> In my opinion, this will not bring a just and lasting peace on the European continent,” Lipavsky added.
