“Cybervillage”: love, pigeons and robots
[ad_1]
Three years ago, the Internet exploded with a comic video about a cybervillage of the future, where a cheerful farmer, in broken English, invites people to explore the virgin soil of Mars. The short film was made by visual effects artists in their spare time. After popular success, the meme grew into a real Birchpunk web series. The name (“birch punk” – by analogy with cyberpunk and dieselpunk) well describes the invented genre. Noon, the 22nd century, interstellar flights and robotic milkmaids – but in Russia everything is as before. Birches, a dying village, reserved seats, queues at clinics.
Of the entire gallery of Birchpunk characters, generally rich in originals (Garik Kharlamov and Anatoly Wasserman appeared in cameos, for example), two turned out to be the most colorful. The same Martian farmer Nikolai (Sergei Chikhachev – the dubbing actor whose voice is spoken by Arnold Schwarzenegger both in the film “Terminator: Genisys” and in the game World of Tanks), as well as the eccentric head of the Izhevsk Dynamics corporation Baragozin (Maly Theater actor Grigory Skryapkin ). Both of them returned in the series “Cyber Village”, which the creators of Birchpunk filmed for “Kinopoisk” together with the company “Place of Power” by Valery Fedorovich and Evgeny Nikishov (known as the creators of the series “Epidemic”, “Dyatlov Pass”, “1703”, etc.). d.). The first two episodes will appear on the video service on September 23.
