Croatia decided not to train Ukrainian soldiers as part of the EU mission

The Croatian Parliament did not support participation in the EU mission to train the Ukrainian military (EUMAM Ukraine), transmits Associated Press.
Of the 151 deputies, 97 supported the decision, which is four votes less than necessary. Ten people voted against, the rest abstained or did not take part in the voting.
The vote in parliament took place after President Zoran Milovic did not support the decision to join the mission. According to him, this is contrary to the Croatian constitution.
On October 17, the EU Council approved the launch of a training mission for Ukrainian troops and territorial defense forces on the territory of the EU countries. The mission’s mandate will initially last two years and its funding is estimated at 107 million euros.
In October, the Hungarian authorities announced that the country would not participate in the EU mission. It was noted that Budapest did not give its consent to the creation of this training mission.
