Critical goods worth $17 billion were imported into Russia through parallel imports

From May to October, 2 million tons of critical goods worth $17 billion were imported into Russia as part of parallel imports. This was announced by the head of the Federal Customs Service Vladimir Bulavin at a speech in the Federation Council.
“To enter the Russian market, the legalization of parallel imports has become important for the economy of products. From May to October, almost 2 million tons of critical goods worth almost $17 billion were imported,” Bulavin said (quoted by TASS).
September forecast Ministry of Industry and Trade, the volume of parallel imports by the end of 2022 will amount to $20 billion. Only from August to September it increased from $6.4 billion to $9.4 billion. Deputy Head of the Federal Customs Service Ruslan Davydov spokethat the main volume of goods imported through parallel imports falls on electronics, appliances, goods for everyday use, clothes and perfumes.
