The head of the Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, told reporters that grain is not exported from the republic. “In order to send grain abroad, we first take it to the mainland, where it is mixed with other grain. It is important for us that the Crimean producers receive money for their harvest. Crimea does not ship grain directly,” said Mr. Aksenov.
The statement of the leader of the Crimea was a reaction to reports that appeared in foreign media that the Ukrainian authorities demanded that Turkey detain a ship owned by a Dubai company with 19,000 tons of barley on board. According to Aksyonov, Ukrainian politicians, putting forward such demands, simply parasitize on the food issue.
Recall, the first information about the supply of grain to the Crimea from Zaporozhye appeared summer 2022.
