Court in Moscow arrests Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Deputy Foreign Minister in absentia

The Lefortovo Court of Moscow arrested in absentia Minister for Reintegration of Uncontrolled Territories of Ukraine Irina Vereshchuk and First Deputy Foreign Minister Emina Dzhaparova, transmits TASS with reference to the press service of the court.

They are accused of violating the territorial integrity of Russia (Article 280.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Earlier, the FSB put them on the international wanted list. The article imputed to him provides for a maximum punishment of up to 10 years in prison. Vereshchuk has been in office since 2021, Dzhaparova since 2020.

Security Service of Ukraine in October announced on the wanted list of the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia Dmitry Medvedev, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova. Criminal cases were initiated against them under Art. 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of the country). In total, about 700 representatives of the Russian authorities are wanted in Ukraine, including deputies, senators, officials and members of the Security Council.

After that, the head of the TFR Alexander Bastrykin instructed initiate a criminal case against Ukrainian officials because of Medvedev’s “illegal criminal liability.”
