Court in Argentina refuses house arrest for Russians detained at the request of the United States

A court in Argentina decided not to transfer the Russians Anton Napolsky and Valery Ermakova, who were detained at the request of the United States, to house arrest. About it informed Russian Ambassador to Buenos Aires Dmitry Feoktistov.
“The Russians asked to be released under house arrest, but so far they have not been met,” he said (cited by TASS).
Feoktistov clarified that Argentina has not yet received a request to extradite the Russians. “According to our information, our citizens have not committed any offenses in Russia, so there is no counter request for extradition yet,” the diplomat said.
In mid-November, the US Department of Justice announced the detention of two Russians in Argentina at the request of the American side. They were accused of copyright infringement, fraud and money laundering. According to the US authorities, the Russians created the Z-Library online library, which allegedly illegally placed books in free access in electronic format.
On October 17, Artem Uss, the son of the governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Alexander Uss, was detained at the Malpensa airport in Milan at the request of the United States. October 19 US DOJ accused five Russians and two Venezuelan oil traders for sanctions evasion and money laundering. According to investigators, the defendants organized a complex scheme to steal American technology for further use in the Russian military-industrial complex, as well as to smuggle millions of barrels of Venezuelan oil that is under sanctions. The end users were named “Russian aluminum company” and “China’s largest state-owned oil, gas and petrochemical conglomerate.” At the end of November, the Milan Court of Appeal released Ussa under house arrest.
