Ombudsman: Ukrainian language courses will be opened in the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Ukrainian language courses will be opened for military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said Language Ombudsman Taras Kremin.

In early January, he reported that the number of reports of violations of the law on the state language in Ukraine last year increased by 30%.

Language courses will be open to military personnel who want to improve their knowledge and prepare for an exam to determine their level of proficiency in the state language. The Ombudsman promised to assist in creating a network in military formations.

In October 2023, Kremin again called on local authorities to remove advertising and signs in non-state languages from cities in Ukraine. In addition, the Ombudsman demands that Ukrainian television channels abandon the Russian language in their programs as soon as possible.
