How does the Quality of Life Council work?
On July 3, a similar council was created in Dagestan. The corresponding decree was signed by the head of the region Sergei Melikov. The regulation on the council says that it was created to ensure the interaction of state authorities, local self-government bodies, public organizations when considering issues “related to the development of human capital, increasing the level of satisfaction of citizens with the quality of social services and improving the implementation of state policy” in this area. In particular, the council will consider issues in the field of healthcare, education, employment and social protection.
The Council will formulate proposals on the priorities for implementing policies in the social sphere, prepare proposals, analyze the current standard of living of the population, and participate in the analysis of the results of the rating of the quality of life of citizens. The council is headed by the head of the region, it also includes members of the government of Dagestan, the commissioner for human rights, members of some committees of the legislative assembly, directors of hospitals, rectors of universities, representatives of public organizations, including the head of the branch of the fund for supporting participants in the special operation “Defenders of the Fatherland” in Dagestan. Councils have similar powers and structure in other regions.
