COS FSB: in the Kherson region, the artillery gunner of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was detained

The Center for Public Relations of the FSB reported that employees of the Crimean department of the department in the territory of the Kherson region detained an agent of the Ukrainian special services, who transmitted information about the deployment of units of the RF Armed Forces for inflicting strikes on them. The detainee turned out to be a 54-year-old citizen of Ukraine. A case was brought against him under Art. 276 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Espionage”).

“Its tasks included collecting and sending information about the locations, the number of units of the RF Armed Forces, the routes of their movement and the types of equipment and weapons used in the special military operation with reference to maps of the area and geographical coordinates,” the CSO said.

According to the FSB, the collected data was sent by the agent to the curator from the SBU via the WhatsApp messenger. In turn, the Armed Forces of Ukraine used the information received from the special services to “correct artillery and missile and bomb attacks on the positions of the RF Armed Forces.”
