From September 6, the Russian Embassy in Denmark will suspend the acceptance of applications and documents on all consular issues. About it says in the Telegram channel of the Russian embassy in Denmark.

“In connection with the unprecedented decision of the Danish authorities to reduce the number of Russian diplomatic workers in Denmark, the consular department of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Denmark will be forced to suspend its activities,” the message says.

In particular, from September 6, the consular department will no longer accept applications and documents, including those for issuing passports, visas, notarial acts, etc. It is specified that ready-made documents can be received until September 25. Consideration of previously accepted applications will be continued, the diplomatic mission stressed.

The embassy noted that they were working to preserve the possibility of consular services for Russians, but warned that the consular department would no longer be able to provide consular services in full.

1 September Danish Foreign Office announced about reducing the staff of the Russian embassy in Copenhagen to the level of the Danish embassy in Moscow. We are talking about a ceiling of 5 diplomats and 20 administrative and technical staff.

In April 2022, the Danish government decided to expel 15 Russian diplomats, accusing them of espionage. In May of the same year, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced persona non grata of seven diplomats from Denmark.
