The constitutions of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR) will be adopted simultaneously tomorrow, December 30. It became known “b”.
Today, December 29, Denis Miroshnichenko, speaker of the People’s Council of the LPR, during a press conference announced that a meeting of the republic’s parliament would be held on December 30, at which, in particular, the adoption of the constitution would be discussed. On December 4, the speaker of the People’s Council of the DPR, Vladimir Bidevka, announced plans to complete the legal processes for the adoption of the constitution by the end of 2022. Mr. Bidevka did not name the date of the relevant meeting, but specified that it would be held “in the near future.”
December 19 “Kommersant” informedthat the acting head of the LPR, Leonid Pasechnik, submitted a draft of a new constitution for consideration by the parliament of the republic. The document was planned to be adopted before the New Year holidays. The press service of the DPR parliament assured Kommersant that their draft constitution would be submitted and considered by the end of 2022.
The DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions were included in Russia on September 30 following the results of referendums. According to the decision of the Constitutional Court, the transitional period for the integration of these four regions with Russia is valid until January 1, 2026.
