The US Congress proposed abolishing the price ceiling on Russian oil due to its ineffectiveness

Press service of the Financial Services Committee of the US House of Representatives published a letter from parliamentarians sent by a group of congressmen to the White House, in which they proposed abandoning the ceiling on oil prices from Russia.

In particular, the document sent to US Presidential Assistant for National Security Jake Sullivan proposes to “abandon the failed scheme to limit oil prices.”

Instead of this unworkable measure, parliamentarians proposed introducing comprehensive sanctions against Russia in the energy sector.
