Companies with Russian capital in Kazakhstan increased by 70%

The number of foreign companies registered in Kazakhstan increased by 38% over the year and amounted to more than 41,000, of which almost half have Russian capital, informed RIA Novosti Trade Representative of Russia in the Republic Anton Loginov.

New foreign companies with Russian capital increased by 70%. According to him, as of August 1, more than 41,000 foreign organizations were registered in the republic, an increase of 38% compared to last year.

“Among them, 18,000 have Russian capital (+70% over the previous period), mainly small and medium-sized businesses. The share of large business does not exceed a fraction of a percent,” the trade representative said.

According to him, given the high level of digitalization of the public services sector, starting a business in Kazakhstan is not difficult for Russians. On average, it will take five to seven business days to complete all stages of obtaining a BIN (business identification number), Loginov noted. Kazakhstan’s GDP, according to him, grew last year by 3.2%, production of goods – by 3.2%, services – by 2.6%.

In September 2022, partial mobilization was announced in Russia, in connection with which there was a mass departure of citizens to neighboring states, including Kazakhstan. Last November, Kazakh Minister of Labor and Social Protection Tamara Duysenova reported that more than 400,000 Russians had entered the republic after Russia announced a partial mobilization. In the autumn, about 100,000 people remained in the country, she said. Consul General of the Russian Federation in Alma-Ata Evgeny Bobrov reported in August 2023 that more than 100,000 Russians arrived in Alma-Ata over the past year, half of whom remained in the city.
