Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov commented on the possible ban on foreign companies withdrawing proceeds in dollars or euros when selling their assets in the country. According to him, this is not related to the weakening of the ruble. Previously newspaper Financial Times with reference to sources, she wrote about the mandatory agreement of prices in national currency with a government commission.

“This is an issue that concerns the government. This is dealt with by a special government commission, you also know this, so, of course, it is better to address questions there for detailed information… They will be released under the conditions that the commission will say. Of course, such a free exit cannot exist now, and the commission strictly regulates this. And the conditions are detailed, all information is available in this commission,” said Mr. Peskov.

Russia, according to the president’s press secretary, remains open to foreign investment and “remains ready to create comfortable conditions for foreign companies to work here.” A special regime for their exit from the Russian market, as Dmitry Peskov said, is in effect due to the “quasi-war” of Western countries.

The day before, the government submitted to the State Duma amendments to the law on currency regulation, which will expand the powers of the Central Bank in controlling foreign companies. According to Kommersant’s information, in order to monitor the implementation of new legislation on expanding the powers of the Bank of Russia, it may be necessary to strengthen supervision over the activities of companies.
