Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine Zaluzhny: “I grew up on Russian military doctrine”

Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny belongs to the generation of officers who found themselves at the turn of two eras. They grew up in the Soviet republic, but tried to get rid of the military dogmas of the USSR.
As it became known to the publication Time, in this sense, Zaluzhny is a typical representative of the officers of the new formation. His dissertation is devoted to the analysis of the US military structure. He advised abandoning the rigid vertical of decision-making power of the Soviet model for the sake of the one adopted in NATO, considering it more mobile and flexible. Zaluzhny proposed to give more authority to commanders in the field.
But this does not mean that he does not appreciate the experience and knowledge of the Russian military. Moreover, Zaluzhny admitted that he keeps the collected works of the Chief of the Russian General Staff Valery Gerasimov in his office. The Ukrainian military commissar called him the smartest of people.
“I grew up on Russian military doctrine and still believe that all military science comes from Russia. I studied with Gerasimov,” Zaluzhny told the publication.
In early September, Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Valery Zaluzhny declaredthat the NWO of Russia will be completed this year.
