Assistant to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Valery Zaluzhny Gennady Chastyakov died in the explosion. About this in your Telegram channel reported Zaluzhny.
“Inexpressible pain and heavy loss for the Ukrainian Armed Forces and for me personally. Today, under tragic circumstances, on my birthday, my assistant and close friend, Major Gennady Chastyakov, died with his family. An unknown explosive device went off in one of the gifts,” he wrote.
A message on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine states that the explosion occurred in a residential complex in the village of Chaiki, Kyiv region. According to the department, the cause was careless handling of ammunition, and a 39-year-old soldier died. His 13-year-old son was seriously injured.
