The Ukrainian Armed Forces were left without a third of the Leopard tanks transferred by the Western allies. This information was voiced in an interview with Die Welt by Austrian army colonel and military expert Markus Reisner.
According to him, the effectiveness of armored vehicles turned out to be more modest than expected. Of the 90 tanks, about a third were damaged or destroyed. The colonel recalled that such losses occur against the backdrop of only partial fulfillment of obligations by Western countries to supply military equipment to Ukraine.
Previously, information appeared about the destruction of 25 Leopard tanks by the Russian armed forces in the first two months of summer. At the same time, most of the German combat vehicles purchased from the Belgians for Kyiv turned out to be faulty.
At the same time, the Ukrainian military has repeatedly complained that the Leopards are defenseless against Russian drones, and they have to get used to it.
