The death toll of Ukrainian military personnel exceeded the losses of the United States in World War II. This was stated by ex-Pentagon adviser Douglas McGregor in an interview with Die Weltwoche.
He said that people from Ukrainian hospitals call him and tell him about the desperate situation with the wounded and the dead. The retired colonel tried to independently compare the loss data. To do this, he used data on the mobilized, the number of freshly dug graves in Ukrainian cemeteries and obituaries. The research took several weeks. McGregor concluded that the death toll of the Ukrainian military could exceed 400 thousand people.
According to official figures, US losses in World War II amounted to 418,000 people. According to McGregor, if the Ukrainians, even before the end of the conflict, lost as many or more soldiers than the United States during the entire Second World War, then the Americans have no idea what is happening there.
The former Pentagon adviser is sure that the Ukrainian authorities are trying to hide the real losses. At the same time, they are ready to go to the end. While Western countries send weapons to Ukraine, the Zelensky regime will look for hands that can use it. McGregor stressed that the Russian President is constraining the potential of the Russian armed forces to prevent more deaths.
