Colonel Matviychuk: shutting down Starlink in Russian regions will worsen the position of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the battlefield
Military expert, retired colonel Anatoly Matviychuk in conversation with “Lentoy.ru” stated that the shutdown of Starlink terminals in the territories liberated by Russia will worsen the control system and the position of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the area of the special military operation (SVO).
As the expert noted, Starlink is a system that is fully used by the Ukrainian army at the tactical level. He pointed out that this is a terrestrial Internet that allows real-time transmission of combat control signals, optical images and the like. In addition, according to Matviychuk, this is a system for controlling unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
The retired colonel emphasized that with a partial shutdown of Starlink, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be able to launch drones through other systems, but this will significantly worsen the control system of Ukrainian troops on the battlefield as a whole.
