Mr. Vantsev, commenting on the work of the airport on June 24, said that Vnukovo has long been operating “at the third level of security.” At the next level, “theoretically” it is necessary to close the airport, he noted. According to him, on June 24, all airport employees were in touch.
On June 24, a number of Telegram channels, citing data from the Flightradar24 service, reported a sharp increase in the number of business jet departures from Vnukovo and Domodedovo. In particular, it was reported that planes of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin took off from Moscow towards St. Petersburg. Later Kremlin refuted departure of the president from Moscow, and the government press service stated that Mr. Mishustin located workplace and holding a meeting.
On June 23, Yevgeny Prigozhin announced a “march of justice” of Wagner PMC mercenaries to Moscow. The Russian authorities regarded this as an armed rebellion.
