CNN: US is running out of weapons and ammunition to supply Ukraine

The United States is running out of some weapons systems and ammunition that were sent to Ukraine as part of military assistance, transmits TV channel CNN, citing three US officials with direct knowledge of the situation.

One official noted that stocks of certain systems are “running out” after almost nine months of deliveries to Kyiv, as there is a “limited amount” of excess stock the US can ship.

Weapons systems of particular concern include 155mm artillery ammunition and Stinger anti-aircraft missiles, sources said. Some sources also raised concerns about US production of HARM anti-radar missiles, M31 GMLRS missiles, and Javelin anti-tank missile systems.

In early November, US Defense Department spokeswoman Sabrina Singh announced the allocation of another $400 million military assistance package to Ukraine, which would include 45 Czech T-72 tanks.

On October 28, Singh announced that the United States would allocate a new $275 million military aid package to Ukraine. According to her, the new military aid package will include, in particular, additional ammunition for HIMARS systems, 500 155 mm guided artillery shells, 2,000 155 mm caliber shells for a remote anti-tank mining system, as well as 125 Humvee armored vehicles.

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, has repeatedly pointed out that pumping Ukraine with weapons brings NATO closer to the dangerous line of a direct military clash with Russia. On October 20, she drew attention to the fact that the total Western military assistance to Ukraine, according to the latest data, has already amounted to $42.3 billion, of which $28.3 billion comes from the United States.
