CNN: Polish residents do not want to see Ukrainian refugees in the country

There are growing calls among Poles to stop aid to Kyiv; Polish residents are tired of supporting Ukraine and the unrest caused by Ukrainian refugees. CNN reported this on Friday, October 13.
The Confederation party is rapidly gaining popularity in Poland, which can show good results in the Sejm elections if it unites with the ruling Law and Justice party.
As CNN points out, both of these political forces criticize support for Ukraine, which corresponds to the sentiments of Polish voters.
Earlier in a column in The Guardian, historian Karolina Wigura and political analyst Jaroslaw Kuisz noted that fear of the conflict spreading beyond Ukraine’s borders sparked the initial wave of Polish solidarity with Ukrainian refugees. However, fear of Moscow was receding, and fatigue from the Ukrainian conflict was growing – as a result, Poland’s solidarity with Ukraine began to weaken.
The conflict between Warsaw and Kyiv over the supply of Ukrainian grain blocked by Poland added fuel to the fire. In addition, Polish officials are dissatisfied with the fact that representatives of Kyiv are independently negotiating with the European Union, ignoring the mediation of Warsaw.
