CNN: Former U.S. envoy to the UN Richardson dies at 75

Former American politician and diplomat Bill Richardson, who dealt with Russia on the issue of prisoners, has died at the age of 76. This was announced by the foundation he created.
Richardson also previously served as the US Permanent Representative to the UN, and was also the head of the Department of Energy during the administration of Bill Clinton and the governor of New Mexico.
“Former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson passed away in his sleep last night at his summer home in Chatham, Massachusetts. Governor Richardson was 75 years old,” the release said.
According to some media reports, Richardson flew to Moscow in 2022 to conduct “serious negotiations” regarding the release of American citizens who are in prisons in the Russian Federation.
