Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton called the fact that people are repeating Russian theses a victory for Russian President Vladimir Putin. She’s talking about this stated in an interview with PBS News.
According to her, the Russian leader is “delighted” by the disagreements over continued support for Kyiv.
“I think that in many ways Putin sees his role this way. When I hear people retelling Russian talking points that were first heard on Russia Today or first appeared in a speech by a Russian official, that’s a big point in Putin’s favor,” she said.
Clinton also said she doesn’t understand why many Americans sided with Putin, but Washington needs to fight it.
Earlier, Clinton addressed Putin at a speech at the US State Department and called his “fault” for NATO expansion. Commenting on this statement, press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov statedthat Clinton is known for “her attempts to turn everything on its head.” He recalled “numerous waves” of alliance expansion and the approach of the bloc’s military infrastructure to Russia’s borders.
