Ukrainian authorities have formed a group to promote the country’s entry into the North Atlantic Alliance. This informal structure includes politicians from NATO member states, said Andriy Ermak, head of the office of the President of Ukraine.
As the official clarified, he himself will lead the notorious group together with former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen.
The group also included former presidents of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaite, Poland Alexander Kwasniewski, former heads of the UK Cabinet Boris Johnson, Finland Sanna Marin, Slovakia Mikulas Dzurinda.
The United States will be represented in the Ukrainian group by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and former State Department Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker.
Previously, British ex-Prime Minister Boris Johnson stated feelings of guilt, which is experienced in NATO due to the fact that the conflict in Ukraine could not be prevented. According to him, this was led to by the long-standing ambiguous position of the countries of the North Atlantic Alliance – an attempt to sit on two chairs.
Meanwhile, the head of the Slovak government, Robert Fico, warned that Bratislava will block Ukraine’s membership in NATO. According to him, the inclusion of Kyiv in the North Atlantic Alliance “would mean the beginning of the third world war.”
