China calls on Russia and Ukraine to refrain from steps that could escalate the conflict. This statement was made by the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Mao Ning, commenting on the drone attacks on the Kremlin.
“China’s position on the Ukraine crisis is consistent and clear: all parties should avoid actions that could lead to further escalation,” she said (quote according to RIA Novosti).

Kyiv denies involvement in the attack. The UN has also previously urged parties to avoid steps leading to an escalation of the conflict. Commenting on the incident, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken declaredthat Washington leaves it up to Kyiv to defend its territory in a conflict.
