Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang announced his readiness to visit the United States at a convenient time for the parties
Foreign Minister Qin Gang, at a meeting in Beijing with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, expressed his readiness to visit the United States at a convenient time for both sides. China Central Television reported that “the parties agreed to keep the exchanges at a high level.”
Blinken’s current visit is the first visit by a US Secretary of State to China in 5 years. It takes place against the background of a significant deterioration in relations between Beijing and Washington due to a whole range of contradictions, including Taiwan, the incident with a Chinese balloon shot down over the United States, as well as ongoing disagreements in trade and technology areas.
Qin Gang, describing the current state of affairs, said that relations between China and the United States are at their lowest point since the establishment of diplomatic relations.
