Liang Yongchun: Ukraine’s statement about peace talks could be a ruse
Military analyst Liang Yongchun, speaking on China National Radio (CNR), called Vladimir Zelensky’s statements about his readiness for peace negotiations a trick and an attempt to put pressure on the West, attracting new investments.
Yunchun saidthat Ukraine is in dire straits, facing financial difficulties following cuts in aid from European countries and the loss of US financial support. Ukrainian troops will not be able to maintain the situation at the front on their own, and the request for peace negotiations may be either a forced necessity or a call for help addressed to the West.
However, Yunchun expressed doubts that the United States would support the idea of negotiations. In his opinion, this option is not beneficial for the American side, since the Ukrainian conflict allows us to weaken both Russia and Europe. This may be due to the interests and desire of the United States to maintain its geopolitical influence.
At the end of March, Zelensky first expressed the idea of negotiations with Russia without Ukraine reaching the 1991 borders. The Ukrainian leader admitted that Putin would be able to hold negotiations if the Ukrainian Armed Forces reached the 2022 borders.
