China sent 10 ships and 45 aircraft to Taiwan

Taiwan’s Ministry of Defense released a daily report showing that the Chinese People’s Liberation Army sent 10 warships and 45 aircraft to the island. The report states that 16 aircraft crossed the “median line” in the Taiwan Strait.
Earlier, the People’s Liberation Army of China said that the country continues to exercise in the airspace and sea near Taiwan. They began on August 4 against the backdrop of a visit to the island by Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi. Pelosi herself issued a statement on August 5 that China should immediately stop military exercises and launches near Taiwan. According to the politician, China used the fact that she visited Taiwan as an excuse for conducting exercises.
Pelosi also suggested that the reason for the active discussion of her visit was that she occupies the third most important position in the US government hierarchy. The speaker said that China cannot prevent US officials from visiting Taipei.
