China and India withdraw troops from border area after clash

The armed forces of China and India withdrew their troops from the border area, where earlier there was a clash between the military personnel of the two countries, reported “RIA Novosti” with reference to the statement of the western zone of the combat command of the People’s Liberation Army of China (PLA).

Beijing also said that the Indian military illegally blocked Chinese border guards who were carrying out routine patrols on the Chinese side of the LOC.

“We demand that the Indian side strictly control and contain the troops on the front line, and work with China to maintain peace and tranquility on the border,” they added.

Earlier today, Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said Chinese troops tried to violate the border of the country in the city of Tawang of the state of Arunachal Pradesh, this attempt was “resolutely suppressed” by the Indian Armed Forces. During the clash, both Indian and Chinese soldiers were injured. Singh clarified that there were no casualties from the Indian side.

LAC is considered a conditional demarcation line in the border areas, whose ownership is disputed by India and China in southern Tibet. Its length is more than 4000 km. After the first armed conflict in the border zone in 1962, China and India signed a truce and approved the LAC.
