Chernyshenko: investments of state-owned companies in Russian software will exceed 900 billion rubles

Investments of Russian state corporations and state companies in domestic software (SW) by 2025 will exceed 922 billion rubles. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko at the third annual conference on machine learning, data analysis and AI technologies Data Fusion 2023.

“I would like to note that the IT industry has been in the area of ​​special attention of the Government for the past few years. Today in Russia there are more than 23 thousand IT companies, while in 2022 the increase was more than 70%. Investments of state companies and state corporations in domestic software will amount to more than 922 billion rubles [2022-2024 гг.]”, – his words were quoted in the office of the Deputy Prime Minister.

Chernyshenko also stressed that Russia already has competitive world-class digital solutions that now need to be prepared for export through the “Institute of Digital Attachés.” He also recalled the statement of Russian President Vladimir Putin that technological sovereignty is the key to the stability of the country in the coming decades.

The Deputy Prime Minister also said that in the Russian Federation there are 16 industry committees for key sectors of the economy, which oversee 33 industrial competence centers (ICC), designed to establish effective intra-industry and inter-industry cooperation.

“More than 300 customer companies were involved in the work of industrial competence centers. The centers have selected 197 priority projects for a total of 232 billion rubles,” he added.

Last summer, Putin declaredthat the withdrawal of foreign companies from the Russian market will allow the country to get rid of the “dangerous and humiliating dependence” on Western technologies. In February this year, the head of state toldthat scientists in Russia need in a short period of time to create “products ahead of the curve” and developments that can ensure the technological sovereignty of the country. Putin emphasized that it is necessary to act in this case “in advance” so that “unique, globally competitive solutions” would be created in Russia that would allow the country to be technologically independent.
