Chernyshenko: at least 48 million rubles a year will be allocated for the development of tourism in the Russian Federation

The state will allocate at least 48 million rubles for the development of the domestic tourism industry. annually, said Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, who oversees this area.

“Today it was decided that 48 billion rubles. – this will be the annual base tourism budget,” he said (quote according to TASS).

In total, tourism financing increased 14 times, Chernyshenko emphasized: from 3.7 billion rubles. in 2018 to more than 50 billion rubles. in 2023. In general, for the implementation of the national project for the development of the industry for 2021-2023. 150 billion rubles were allocated. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the share of tourism in Russia’s GDP could grow from 2.6% to 4-5% thanks to these measures.

According to the results of the strategic session on tourism that took place today, Chernyshenko said, it was decided to continue the programs of concessional lending to tourism infrastructure and support for the construction of modular hotels, promotion of the tourism product in foreign markets, etc.

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, in turn, during the session toldthat, against the backdrop of increasing demand, “it is necessary to take a comprehensive approach to the development of the entire tourism industry in order to bring the quality of service in this area to a higher level.” In particular, it is necessary to continue updating the hotel base, improve transport accessibility, and also produce vehicles for tourists.

Last week, Deputy Minister of Economy Dmitry Vakhrukov informedthat the number of tourists accommodated in Russian hotels increased in January-June by more than 16% in annual terms. To support the growing demand, it is important for the state to continue to develop the tourism infrastructure and provide the industry with personnel, he added.

On behalf of the President, by 2030, year-round seaside resorts should be launched in Russia, designed to accommodate at least 10 million tourists a year. As Chernyshenko said earlier, the Golden Sands of Russia and Saki resorts in the Crimea, the Caspian coastal cluster in Dagestan, the Russian Baltic in Kaliningrad, and others can also become priorities.

The authorities expect that the development of federal year-round resorts will contribute to the fulfillment of the tasks of the national project “Tourism and Hospitality Industry”, the key indicator of which is an increase in the number of domestic tourist trips in Russia to 140 million by 2030.
